Battle of the Bands 2019

Battle of the Bands: April 19 2019. 6:00 PM @ The Bottom Lounge. Chicago, IL

UIC Radio’s 6th annual Battle of the Bands competition. UIC students showcased their musical talent to compete to win a spot on UIC’s Spark lineup. 

My role for this event was serving as the committee chair and delegating work to the rest of the planning committee.

Duties included:

- Booking venue to host the event

- Securing contract with the venue

- Creating application process for bands applying to compete 

- Booking 4 judges with professional experience in music to score the bands 

- Creating a fair scoring rubric for judges to use

- Creating a production agenda for the day of the event

- Compiling audio and tech needs from bands

- Strategic marketing campaigns on campus & on social media to promote the event

- Writing up rules & guidelines the bands must follow
